The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society awards individual, group and agencies for their positive impact on those served by our profession. A new initiative PDR's Older Adult Services Unit in partnership with the Visual Arts Department resulted in two Senior Art Camps during summer 2003. A five-day, four-hour per day camp in mid-June attracted 34 older adults ages 55+. Instructional classes were held for all abilities in painting , drawing, watercolors, and three-dimensional art. Morning snack and lunch were provided . At the request of participants, a second camp was offered in early September.
